About

I currently work as a civilian member of NATO* in the Satellite Communications section of the Communications Logistics Depot at Brunssum, the Netherlands.  I attended the University of Maryland and have degrees in Mathematics and Electronic Systems.  I live with my spouse, Jessica and have 2 children.

I have gained a great deal of world experience across many fields of technology and politics as my travels have taken me across the globe, one continent at a time.  My colleagues tell me that the value of my writings rests not so much in the experience I have, but in my ability to see things from so many perspectives and to comment objectively even when an honest answer goes against my own political interests.  This is a core element of integrity, which seems to be in short supply in today’s political landscape.

This site is not meant to be a place to get the news neither is it a personal pulpit.  I got the idea from the international atmosphere I have at work where the issues of today are hotly debated from a broad range of perspectives.  The purpose of every article is to present a perspective and then get feedback so as to create an environment from which any interested person can participate and ideally, learn.  I underestimated how difficult it is to get such a forum off the ground in the age of social networks because while many of my articles have motivated debate, 95% of it has taken place on Twitter or Facebook (the latter of which I never see because I’m not a member).  Sadly, it is extremely difficult to get comments here but I hope you find it interesting nonetheless.

* It is worth saying for obvious reasons that the opinions expressed here are my own and are in no way to be interpreted as, or in any way affiliated with, the official policies of NATO.
