New ‘Fox’ Guarding Hen House

In their latest cynical, anti-liberal move, News Corp’s Fox News has inked a new deal with Sarah Palin to offer still more “fair and balanced” commentary on Fox, according to CNN. As you know, Palin had decided to devote all of her time to speaking and blogging but has decided to change directions after several months. A permanent spot with Fox will allow Palin to go even ‘rogue-er’ and more ‘mavericky’ than ever.

The move might surprise some given Palin’s approval rating having been on the decline as previously discussed here. Aside from that, it fits the profile of a “News” station that brands itself simultaneously conservative AND “balanced,” which you might note are contradicting terms.  Its viewers are endlessly forgiving of its hypocrisy and inaccuracy as documented here and subsequently here.

One must wonder about the timing of the announcement considering the latest revelations of Palin’s problems in the McCain presidential campaign.
